Tarpon Strings on the Treasure Coast

Went off the beach yesterday with Capt Chris Yergans and met up with Scott Crippen.

We didn’t get bites from the fish we wanted but is sure was cool to see the tarpon daisy chaining on the treasure coast like this.

Gotta look close but that is a pack of Tarpon headed straight at us.

Some big ones in the back!

Ya know, sometimes they just do not bite. These fish had their sensors on and would dive deep before getting up to the boat. They had very little interest in eating a fly, so they swam on.

Mondays

Started today off with a look at the Ocean. Put the drone up and right away spotted two Eagle Rays. Flew down to take a closer look and watched them cross paths with a daisy chain of Tarpon. Right away was able to spot a giant logger head sea turtle. Another epic start to the week!

the Southern Eagle

Getting bait yesterday with Captain Chase Cornell and Jack Hendrix. I was working on a little film production for them when I snapped these Images of the vessel, Southern Eagle, just of the coast of Florida.

Tail winds of Hurricane Isaias

Here’s a quick edit I made with the footage we gathered on this quick South Florida road trip. Daniel Glenn and Jack Hendrix wanted to chase the storm up the coast pretty much staying as close behind the storm as possible in an attempt to get the largest surf possible. It worked out really well. Check out the edit below.

A day at work

I am not one to post selfies or anything much of myself, but this photo is pretty cool. It was snapped by a client on the poling platform from the back of the Maverick.

CNY tight on the Fly.

there’s so many things going on when i’m filming with these fish, its pretty neat to have a split second of it frozen in time for myself to look back at and actually see what was happening. In real time the only thing i’m seeing is what the camera see’s and i’m just trying to keep a split second ahead of the chaos, anticipating what’s going to happen so that I can film it well.

Pure Chaos in my noggin that will get sorted out and turned into something legit to watch later. Love it.

Ive been working on a very cool video project with a good friend of mine, Chris Yergans, AKA CNY on the Fly.

These are a few frame grabs from insanely amazing moments during this past month of June. We have been fishing all over the state of Florida enjoying its many, many different creatures.

Full Crew off the Beach. Boat swap about to happen.

The Silver Tarpon is a Migrator that recently came back to the beach after spawning in the deep ocean. The smaller green back tarpon would be more of a Florida Coastal fish. That smaller male will now follow the larger female for as long as it can, possibly forever, looking for the chance to also spawn.

Line of massive Tarpon Swim past just out of casting range. These Tarpon are daisy chaining and were doing some shallow water spawning.
