Mondays by Nathaniel Harrington

Started today off with a look at the Ocean. Put the drone up and right away spotted two Eagle Rays. Flew down to take a closer look and watched them cross paths with a daisy chain of Tarpon. Right away was able to spot a giant logger head sea turtle. Another epic start to the week!

Now time to edit…

Worlds Ocean Day. by Nathaniel Harrington

What a day! I wasn't to sure how the water clarity was going to be due to the recent swell... turns out we just needed a short break from waves to calm the water down enough to make an excellent dive happen.

I couldn't think of a better way to spend a few hours on Worlds Ocean Day than in the Ocean, duh. I don't know the reefs very well yet, but I am learning them quick! And with the clarity I was given today, I feel a lot more at home out there now.

I do want to give credit to the creator of the Oceans today. God created a beautiful world for our enjoyment. I'm in awe every time I go into the water. What a wondrous work. It is our duty to take care of this planet during our time here also. I want to stress that God put us in charge, to subdue and take care of earth during our stay here, and we aught to put in our efforts to nourish both the land and sea. Laziness is the biggest culprit of trash in the sea, and that laziness starts here on land. I hate going to the beach just to spend my time picking up slackers trash, I don't like doing it, but it is better than finding it in the water on my next dive.

If you read my blog even one time you'll know that I love the ocean and I spend a lot of time in it. I need to ask that we all do our part to keep the waste at a minimum. If you must use 5 plastic bottles a day go ahead, just please, take them of the sand when you leave. Lets be responsible.

Nough said. Hope you got to enjoy the Oceans today! If not just enjoy these pics! Start your Sea Dreaming now!!

Hello there Reef!

Hello there Reef!

Meet blue eyed Nurse Shark. She setup a great portrait for me.

Comfy Cozy in her cave.

I ran into at least five nurse sharks today. it seemed that they were all over. I even got to swim with this one for a bit.

The fish are plenty!

I never would have guessed to find structures like this in Florida. I could not be happier!! I enjoy underwater caves more than anything else. They are always teeming with life!

I even found a couple Honus today! Man, its not like Maui. These turtles take of the second they know you are there. Skittish fellows... Just glad to get a couple shots of a few turtles.

This one was pretty large and very old looking. I'm calling it the "Ugly Turtle". It looked like its been down there a few thousand years... Still, Stoked for such a find!

Very amped on the day! Hope you also had a great day and I look forward to sharing my next Sea Dreaming adventure with you.

Thanks for checking in!

MN for the weekend. by Nathaniel Harrington

Just got back from a really fun 3 day trip to freezing cold MN.

River's first plane ride, more snow in the midwest than I've ever seen, empty lift lines and powder runs at Trollhaugen, WI, sums it all up well.

I got to go snowboarding with my good friends Austin Young and Eric Ralles. I really never have seen so much snow at the resorts, its wild!! We had an epic powder day at troll, one that I will never forget.

Here's a few of those moments...

To top off the weekend we had to go shoot some guns. You can't go to MN without shooting guns!

I love it up there.

There's no place like home!

A special thanks to my family for the awesome weekend. Love and miss you all.   :)

A weekend of Paradise in Vero Beach. by Nathaniel Harrington

Shoots, this last weekend was a blast.

It started with an invitation that I wasn't even sure was meant to be a real invite, well, turns out it was more than sincere. My in-laws long time friends(the Brown's) live over in Vero Beach, Florida, they know my wife Tatum pretty well and know that I am crazy about surf. The invitation was to get away and enjoy a relaxing weekend on the east coast. To say the least I jumped on it! I didn't even think twice about it... it's time to see some waves and get my feet sandy. We took off.

It's fun not knowing where you are going or what its going to be like when you get there.. I love adventures. But these days adventures seem to be a little more tricky than what they used to be. Once upon a time I packed my car with everything I owned and was gone, now I pack my car full of my 4 month old daughters things and then attempt to fit my own gear. Times have changed, so the adventure has also changed. I wasn't sure what it would be like going to the Brown's home with River Lee and Tatum, turns out, not a problem at all. We were greeted with tons of love and an open house.

I started my mornings off with some super fun shore break in the cold weather. 34 degrees and soaking wet... buuurrrr.... Very worth it!

To add to the excitement we were able to meet up with our good friends Blake and Chelsea. We spent the day in Sebastian soaking up the sun and enjoying the surf.

The surf was pretty tiny, but fun! Blake did what he could and I stuck my head in a few barrels.. perfect day.

The sun came out and made it a fantastic day for the beach. River thought so... Of course she had a photo shoot, to darn cute to not.

These Photos by Chelsea Erwin. A huge Thanks to Blake & Chelsea for cruising up the coast to hang out with us! Love you guys.

Click here to see Chelsea's take on the day....

Yup, even after all that I still found some time to enjoy a Moon rise over the Ocean. I've never seen a full moon rise like this before.. I guess the East Coast does have some perks! It was AweMazing! I shot it all with a wide angle.. I apologize for that, because it was better than what my photos show.

...and that is that... one weekend in the books.

Thanks so much to Buddy & Gail Brown for opening your home to my family. We hope to see you again soon.

Mahalo,

I found a few Honu's. by Nathaniel Harrington

I was going through some images yesterday looking for some shots for a friend when I came across a few unseen Honu shots from a dive in Maui.

Stoked to share with you!

Contact me about getting one of these on your wall? :) It'd look great, I promise. Share the Aloha and love of the Ocean.
