3rd of July Light Show. by Nathaniel Harrington

Last night was all time. I mostly surfed, but had to grab the camera and take home a couple snaps. There were storms passing all around me with the sun periodically poking through to light up the surf. I was in awe the whole time. God has really created beauty that will always and forever impress me.

Have a happy 4th of July everyone!

Arthur Showing in Florida. by Nathaniel Harrington

Hey guys!

It's been a long, busy day for me and I haven't been able to get to all of my images that I would like to put together for a little showing of Tropical Storm Arthur... But I did grab two for a pre-view. It's been a fun day! Mine started at 6am, when I did not want to get up, I did anyways, and it turned out to be a great decision! My day ended with an amazing surf sesh and beautiful sunset.

Well here's the two, more to come soon.

I was thinking about walking the beach for a little while to attempt some scenic barrel shots... But after I saw this little wave go through I was way to amped to stay out of the water any longer. It was go time. I figured I could just try to capture the scene from the water where I like it the most. :)

Today's description of Arthur's surf: Clean. It has been a solid, clean day.

Happy July! So amped to get summer swell! Can't wait to post the rest...

From Dusk till Dawn. by Nathaniel Harrington

Hi Guys!

Hope you all had a great weekend! I know I sure did. Sunday turned into an all day outing at the beach where I was very surprised to find some surf coming in. When I say surf what I really mean in tiny shorebreak barrels that I get super amped on! There was a little more size today than I have seen in a while which really helped the images this weekend.

I started my day at 6am sharp to get a few pre-dawn motion shots in at the Pier. I've seen a lot of people do some cool images with blur and I am giving it a shot myself. That and there's no other place I'd rather watch the day start from than in the water. :) Also, Jonny Capen joined me with his gopro and skim board for the morning photo sesh. I watched him tuck into a few barrels with the lens pointed down the line, so hoping he got some great video/photo from the morning. I shot a few images of him enjoying the surf as well.

Here's some shots...

Motion in the Morning. Pretty neat with the pier in the background.

Believe it or not I really did a lazy job of going through these pics. I'm pretty tired so I passed up tons of awesome barrel shot, all of which will probably get burried into my hard drive never to be seen again. haha. Happens all to often.

Still, I'm amped on the selection I was able to grab!

Jonny's skimshots were fun to take. I haven't shot action in a long time!

The contrast from morning to afternoon is pretty radical. Once the winds come up the East Coast shuts down. But, I managed to find a few spots where the storms were able to bring some shape back to the surf. I love shooting storms and less than perfect conditions more than I like to shoot perfect conditions. There's so much more of a challenge to it! Anyways, I was happy to find a few more nuggets in the day, and I am stoked to share them with you here.

Metallic colors in the stormy afternoon are my absolute favorite. What do you think?

I'd love to hear some oppinions on what images you guys like more! The perfect shaped of a morning sunrise, or the the tossing afternoon storm surges? Keep in mind that Morning was shot with a 10mm lens while afternoon was with a 50mm. Which gets your vote?

Thanks for checking in!

Monday Could Use a Barrel. by Nathaniel Harrington

Monday's can always use barrels...

We had some fun surf yesterday! I'll be posting about it later this evening if I get the chance. The wind knocked down the surf in the afternoon, but then some storms went through and cleaned it up! I shot from sunrise to almost sunset yesterday... So fun.

Check out these two images to start the week of Sea Dreaming.

Thanks for checking in!

have a great week!

Surf SBI. by Nathaniel Harrington

Yesterday morning brought in some pretty clean surf conditions! Much needed this week.

I got out there with a few friends; Keith Mahon, Tom Fletcher, and John Buehrig. This is what we found.

Pelican's Surf.

Not too bad for a humpday.

I also got out this morning and found some un-surfable shorebreak. The colors were all there this morning. I'll post more of this later after I get a chance to go through them.

Hope you guys got some surf or a least relaxation!

Thanks for checkin in!

Early Surf & Dive. by Nathaniel Harrington

Winds: 0mph

Surf: 1-2ft

Sounds good to me!

Here's some shots from this mornings adventures! I found some fish including a school of Snook, a couple Nurse Sharks, Stingrays, and lots of reef fish. The visibility was still only a few feet, but that'll work for me. It's just good to be out there.

Morning Motion.

Another blury cave.

I love getting into the water early to watch the day begin!

Big Snook!

Here's a little nurse shark I found close to shore. This is the first Nurse Shark I have ever swam with! Really stoked to see her this morning!

And I saw this Nurse Shark's tail sticking out from under the ledge. I dove down to find that she was pretty big! I would say close to six feet or so.

Reef fish in the structure. /;

Soo Fun!

It's always good to see life on the reefs!

Thanks for checking the Blog and I hope you have a great weekend!
